Initial payment: most life insurance companies do not require an initial payment at the time of the application. There is no application fee.
Health history: first, the health history and personal information must be submitted. Oftentimes, the answers given must be clarified and additional information obtained from the applicant.
Medical records: depending on the health history, medical records have to be obtained in some cases. The insurance company will get the records directly from the medical provider if needed.
Medical exam: to get the best rates, a paramedical medical exam is needed. You can choose the time and location. The insurance company pays for it.
Be available: You must be available by telephone so any other needed information can be obtained. If a message is left for you, you must return all calls about your application during the application process or you may find that your application is not processed.
